Congratulation to Pastor Burnice Green who made the news discussing the potential that is available to our young African - American boys. There are many positive role models for these young men such as President Obama, Honorable Judge Stephen Miller (also featured in the video) and our very own, Pastor Burnice Green (Vice Principal & Boys Academy Overseer). Rochester City School Boy's Academy
Overseer: Pastor Mr. Burnice B. Green, Sr.
The maze for troubled boys, the City's poorest school, may have found a way out...!!!
Rochester City Martin Luther King, Jr. School #9 was the headline article in the Democrat and Chronicle. This is one of the poorest schools in the City of Rochester and may children come with behavior challenges and from single parent homes. But today, this school made the headlines not because of the violence in the school or the low attendance and low testing results, BUT for the positive growth of 80 young men enrolled in the Boy’s Academy. The Assistant Principal, Pastor Mr. Burnice B. Green, is the overseer of this academy which has just successful completed its first year. Before the academy was established, these young men made up over 70% of the behavioral challenged students school wide. This meant that they spent more time in ISS (In School Suspension) then they did in their regular classrooms. But this academy has turned their lives around and now they make up 10% or less of those spending time in ISS. Some of these young men come from broken homes and Pastor Mr. Green has an open door policy with these young men, enabling them to feel comfortable talking to him about anything. Pastor Mr. Green’s compassion for this academy is reflected in the attitudes, improved work efforts and the lives of the young men that are a part of this program. PLEASE take a moment to watch the video below (after a brief word from their sponsors) and you can also check out the link for additional videos about this Boy’s Academy. The democrat and chronicle will run a 3-day series on Pastor Mr. Green and the success of this wonderful program. Pastor Mr. Green and the staff and students of this academy are looking forward to continued success stories in the months and years ahead.
To God be the Glory..!

| Pastor Burnice Green Vice Principal Dr. Martin Luther King School #9
Rochester, N.Y. - A new program has been developed in one Rochester school designed to help "at risk" youth. The Boys Academy at #9 School is designed to help youth stay out of trouble. Mr. Burnice Green will be overseeing the Boys Academy come fall, and explains, "what I noticed was something like 80% of referrals coming from 25 boys."
That statistic inspired him. "Let's work with those boys," said Green. "Lets really pull those boys together. Let's give them alternatives, lets work with them, lets individualize their instruction and lets see what we come up with." He came up with the school's "Boys Group."
